Birthday Books
The birthday book program is our library's primary source of funds for new books. When you purchase one, a book is selected for your child's birthday with a commemorative bookplate inside. On his or her birthday month your child will be the very first to check out this new book. Students are thrilled to have their birthdays recognized in this special way.
Please submit your order at least two months prior to your child's birthday in order to guarantee on-time delivery. Please note that August, September and October birthday books are presented early fall. April, May and summer birthday books are presented end of April/early May and the library closes mid May.

All about our shelves!
- The Reed School Library has a collection of over 14,000 items, including books, encyclopedias, videos, and DVDs. There is also a modest collection of reference material.
- All 18 classes visit the library every week. Teachers bring their class to the library for story telling, library skills, special projects, a digital citizenship program and most importantly, book check out.
- The library works hard to help students practice good library etiquette - following library rules and procedures for book check out & book care; learning to navigate the library shelves & understanding the important role libraries play in our community.
